Since 2001 Liffey has invested extensively in innovation and modernization through the procurement of Freightliner vans to compliment the Liffey fleet of trucks. Liffey takes care of its moving trucks; a preventative approach in tandem with a regular maintenance program has been in place since the company was established in 1973.

Going Greener Everyday

Our new fleet of cargo vans drive the company in ‘Going Greener Everyday’ and assist in aiding Liffey achieve a significant reduction in its carbon footprint on every move. This sustainable way to fleet management is evident in Liffey’s Manhattan depot with the first Liffey truck; a 1961 International still in use and dispatched on special occasions from Liffey’s storage warehouse in New York City.

Reduce, Reuse & Recycle

The Liffey fleet encompasses a range of vehicles that include two dedicated HGVs that are licensed by the BIC, No. 1641. These vehicles have created greener savings for our customers by enabling them to recycle with Liffey. ‘Going Greener Everyday’ is Liffey’s commitment to recycling cardboard and recyclable metals.

Move for Hunger

You may be aware; many people throw out a good deal of stuff when they move. Unfortunately, a lot of this stuff is food that could be delivered to a family in need rather than thrown away. Liffey Van Lines through its affiliation with Allied Van Lines – The Careful Mover, is committed to the Move For Hunger campaign and is part of the nation’s largest year-round service programs. Liffey offers to pick up the unwanted, non-perishable food items from those who are moving and deliver it to their local food banks.

Move For Hunger is a non-profit organization established to support the efforts of our community food banks. With the help of their partners including Liffey, Move For Hunger will bring a tremendous amount of relief to those most desperate for our help. Since Move For Hunger’s commencement in August 2009, 1,288,000 pounds of food for local food backs have been delivered across North America.
