Moving boxes | The new guide you never thought you'd need

By James G

If you’re moving soon and you take on the decision to pack all of your items by yourself, which does actually save a lot of money on your estimate due to the reduction in labor cost!

We thought it'd be helpful to put together a comprehensive guide to the different types of moving boxes at your disposal. Boxes are available for purchase through Liffey Van Lines, but you can also get them elsewhere if you want to shop around.

Packing your items by yourself can be daunting but we hope to relieve some of that stress right here:

Moving boxes: Why do we need them?

When it comes to moving house, there are so many trinkets and items that we pick up over the course of a lifetime - and it is only when coming to moving them that we realise quite how many we have!

Some are bulkier and do not need packing - tables and armoires, for example - but most other household items are going to need moving boxes.

They are cheap enough to get, and often you will be able to hawk around a few local shops for excess packing boxes that can be used as moving boxes. After all, in an era when we should all look to be more environmentally-friendly, there is no harm in recycling what we have.

So take an inventory for each of the rooms in your house - paying particular attention to the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms.

Be sure to declutter - this will save you time, energy and money in the long run. By getting rid of what we don't need to move - silly as it is to say - the less need there is for moving boxes in the first place.
